Twit-Out, huelga de tweets para el 21 de Mayo

Cuando he visto este mediodía la iniciativa de Twit-Out no me ha gustado, pero esta noche al no funcionar bien Twitter me ha sentado muy mal y no me resulta tan descabellada (cosas de la twitter-dependencia).

Nos crean una necesidad que antes no existía, tiene éxito, mucho éxito, y nos encontramos de golpe con un servicio con muchísimos errores, que cae varias veces en el mismo día, que tiene tanto “mantenimiento”… esto es lo que motiva a importantes usuarios de Twitter están hablando sobre hacer una especie de huelga en el cual los usuarios de Twitter, como protesta, no tuiteemos el día 21 de mayo de 2008.

El éxito de esta iniciativa auguramos que será prácticamente nulo (yo mismo no prometo cumplirlo), pero lo importante es su difusión, que haya un toque importante de atención por los problemas de Twitter, especialmente hacia la gente de Twitter Inc., porque jamás había escuchado una huelga de usuarios de Messenger por sus cortes y bugs, de e-mails porque no funcionen algunas DNS, de usuarios de algún foro o blog porque no responden bien… todo esto es inaudito para mí y supongo que cuando el río suena, agua lleva. Cada día veo con mejores ojos ideas como Twitter descentralizado.

Actualización: creo que este post ha sentado muy mal a cierta gente. Como aclaración, ni mucho menos comento que se abandone Twitter, que se siga la huelga, etc., pero sí que Twitter debe atajar los problemas si no quiere que la masa de usuarios migre a otros sistemas, dándose el caso además que ellos han difundido el microblogging como herramienta de comunicación, y el mérito se lo llevarían otras empresas.

Lo que me gustaría es que la gente no abandone Twitter por sus problemas, sino que se apliquen medios para solucionarlo, no digo que ya lo estén haciendo, sino que no lo están consiguiendo. No abonamos dinero por Twitter, pero eso no es culpa de usuarios adictos, es el famoso misterio del modelo de negocio de Twitter, y no porque no cobren se puede dejar de hacer críticas constructivas. De todas formas, mi opinión de anoche fue en parte influenciada por el síndrome de abstinencia en un twitter-adicto como yo.
